Berau’s EGMS OKs Eko Santoso Budianto As New President Director 

(The Insider Stories) - An extra-ordinary shareholders meeting of PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk (BRAU), Indonesia’s fifth-biggest coal producer, on Thursday (03/06), gave an approval for the appointment of Eko Santoso Budianto to take over Rosan Perkasa Roeslani’s president director position.

Shareholders also approved the new composition of BRAU’s board of directors and commissioners:

Also present at in the EGMS, which was held at the Shangri-La hotel in Jakarta, Bumi Plc’s chief executive Nick Von Schirnding and Samin Tan, the chairman of Bumi Plc.

The London-listed Bumi Plc controls 85 percent stake in BRAU.

When asked by reporters about the progress on the Bakrie separation, Von Schirnding said: “(It) will make progress in next few weeks. “

Bumi Plc now controls 29 percent stake in Bumi Resources (BUMI).

Von Schirnding also said Bumi Plc is targeting to boost coal production of BRAU to 30 million metric tons in the next five years. Now, BRAU produce 21 million metric tons.

He said Bumi Plc has acknowledged $50 million deposit from the Bakrie Group into escrow account managed by JP Morgan

In related news, Bumi Resources Minerals (BRMS), a mineral miner arm of the Jakarta-based BUMI, announced about the resignation of Samin Tan as BRMS’s president director.
Two other directors Kenneth Raymond Allan and Hardianto also resigned.

The announcement is available in a filing to the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Thursday.
