JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Bank Mandiri is considering issuing bonds of Rp5 trillion in the first half of this year, as part of its sustainable bonds issue plan. The bonds will have tenor of 5, 7 and 10 years, a bank executive said.

Finance Director of Bank Mandiri Pahala Mansyuri said the bank is also considering issuing zero-coupon bond as there is demand for this particular paper, aiming at preventing mismatch between liability and assets. The zero-coupon bonds value could be around Rp1 trillion.

In addition, Mandiri also plans to seek bilateral loans worth $100 million and repatriated funds. To generate the funds, Mandiri Sekuritas plans to issue new investment products to its customers as well as treasury products such as dual currency investment, therefore investors can get yield enhancement.

President Director PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (IDX: BMRI) Kartiko Wiraatmodjo added that the repatriated funds that have entered into Indonesia through Bank Mandiri has reached Rp30 trillion. Those funds are still being parked in savings and deposits and in the process of seeking the right investment instruments such as bonds, MTN or property.
