JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) - Captain Ridzeki Tresno Wibowo, Director of Flight Operations for AirAsia Indonesia, has been appointed as acting Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. He replaces Sunu Widyatmoko who is departing as Chief Executive Officer after 3 years of service.
Captain Ridzeki first joined AirAsia as a senior pilot in 2004 and was appointed as Director of Flight Operations in 2015. He is an experienced pilot with over 16,000 flight hours under his belt.
“We are particularly grateful for his leadership during this past year when AirAsia Indonesia was confronted with difficult challenges,” President Commissioner of AirAsia Indonesia, Pin Harris, said in press statement.
AirAsia Group CEO, Tony Fernandes, added, “Sunu was instrumental to our turnaround in Indonesia, which has been remarkable. AirAsia and its Indonesian shareholders are committed to building on that base as we continue to strengthen our presence in the largest market in Asean.”
AirAsia Indonesia operates 15 A320 aircrafts on 33 routes to 18 domestic and international destinations in Asean and Australia from its hubs in Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, and Medan. The airline has carried over 47 million passengers since its inception in 2004.
