The Insider Stories Market Briefs - Feb 27

JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Followings are some news that could affect trading on the stock market today, which are compiled by our team :

  • Starting on Monday (27/2) the government will offer a new series of retail sukuk, the SR-009. But, it turns out Islamic investment instrument does not provide coupons as you expect. The government set the coupon at 6.9%, said Director of Islamic Financing Directorate General Financing and Risk Management (DJPPR) Ministry of Finance, Suminto. The coupons offered by this new Sukri is still larger than the coupon of ORI-013. In addition, the coupon of SR-009 is also higher than the average 12-month deposit rate today, which is around 6.1%. Its tax deposits is also larger than the Sukuk tax.
  • Bank Indonesia (BI) noted that the capital inflow since the beginning of January 2017 until the end of last week has reached around Rp 25 trillion. The amount is slightly higher than the inflow since the beginning of the year until February 10, 2017 which amounted to Rp 24.4 trillion. Executive Director of the Department of Economic and Monetary Policy BI Juda Agung said, thei inflow reflects the exchange rate so far which has been stable.
  • PT Astra Internasional Tbk (ASII) will allocate as much as Rp 20 trillion capital expenditure in 2017. This number includes an amount of Rp 5 trillion for its unconsolidated subsidiaries. The amount of the capex is equal with the 2016 budget. ASII also prepares as much as Rp 15 trillion for its consolidated subsidiaries in several business lines, such as agribusiness, heavy equipment, retail development, and infrastructure projects. President Director of ASII Prijono Sugiarto explained, as much as Rp 2.2 trillion will be allocated for agribusiness sector, about Rp 5 trillion-Rp 6 trillion for PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR), mainly for the heavy equipment, and for Astra’s retail development as much as Rp 1.5 trillion to Rp 2 trillion.
  • The government will conduct the auction of government securities (SUN) in rupiah currency to meet part of financing target in the Budget 2017. The indicative target of these securities amounted to Rp15 trillion and 22.5 trillion with a maximum target is sold in six series.
  • King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud will visit Indonesia at March, 1 until March 9, 2017. This visit is a return visit on the arrival of President Joko Widodo to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in September 2015 ago. CMEA Darmin Nasution mention some investment to be made King Salman include a refinery and Petrochemical. He believes the arrival of Raja Salman to Indonesia for investment relations. (*)
