Insider Stories - British luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveiled the Wraith, its latest premium model in Indonesia to capture demand from premium car buyers.

The emergence of the Wraith will add to other existing types in the domestic market, such as the Phantom Coupe, Ghost, Phantom Extended Wheelbase and Phantom Drophead Coupe.

Dan Balmer, Rolls-Royce general manager for Asia-Pacific, said with the new model, the firm wanted to expand its customer base by reaching out to young wealthy buyers. The firm will start the first delivery of the standard model by the middle of next year upon orders coming as soon as its launch, according to Balmer.

Balmer said that he maintained a positive outlook on Rolls-Royce sales in Indonesia next year despite the general elections, which might affect the country’s economic situation as might the recent luxury car tax increase.

At present, Indonesia is the biggest market for Rolls-Royce in Southeast Asia after Singapore. Balmer said that Indonesia had the potential to become the largest market in the region in the future although the timeline could not be predicted.

Last year, Rolls-Royce, now owned by German carmaker BMW, recorded record sales of 3,575 units, up 1 percent from 3,538 cars in 2011.
