Indonesia Internet Users Estimate Reach 82 Millions This Year

(Insider Stories) - Indonesia's internet user in 2013 estimate will grow faster to 82 million subscriber or rose 30.37% from previous year 62.9 million.

The tsunami in internet services will continue in 2014 and 2015.

The users estimate will reach 107 million and 139 million users at the time. Internet Services Entreprenuer Asociation (APJI) Sammy Pangerapan said if this happen by 2014 Indonesia will become the fourt largest internet users in the world.

This target, He said is achievable because government has add new spectrum to PT Telekomunikasi Selular and PT XL Axiata.

Meanwhile PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia in the process to build new fiber optic wire with capacity 17 million subscriber.

According to Cisco, globally connected devices will reach 25 billion from world population 7.2 billion.

In 2012, over than 100 million smartphones users consumed over 1 gigabyte (GB) per month of data.

By 2016, the monthly global smartphone data traffict will pass 10 exabytes per month with the average smartphone generating 2.6 GB per month, a 17-fold increase from 2012.
