JAKARTA (TheInsiderStories) – Indonesia Election Supervisory Body has issued 2019 Election Vulnerability Index. The index is a reference on the areas prone to conflicts and election dispute.

The commissioner of the body Mochammad Afifuddin said that the Election Vulnerability Index involves 514 regencies and cities in 34 provinces in Indonesia. The evaluation of the regions vulnerable to conflicts and disputes is carried out by research in four dimensions .

“The first dimension is social politic for 43.89, second is free and fair election organizer with 58.30, dispute 50.56, and political participation for 46.18,” said Afifuddin in his office on Tuesday (25/09).

From the research, there are at least 15 provinces with high vulnerable elections. One of them is West Papua with 52.83.
“Every provinces has different vulnerability characteristic. The most election vulnerability is averagely about the fair and free organizing of election,” he added.

For example, he explained, West Papua, West Sumatra and Maluku have different vulnerability. The provinces are included in the category of free and fair organizing of
election.

Election Vulnerability Index is a program of Election Supervisory Body to map and early detect various potential of violations and vulnerability ahead of 2019 Legislative Election
and 2019 Presidential election.
