JAKARTA (TheInsierStories) – Global ride sharing company Grab said it has opened R&D center in Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta. The center complements the company’s R&D centers in other cities around the world including in Bangalore, Beijing, Ho Chi Minh City, Seatle and Singapore.
With the R&D center, engineers from Indonesia will have the opportunity to make innovations along with other engineers from global tech companies such as Amazon, Facebook and Microsoft.
The Grab’s R&D Jakarta will employ more than 200 engineers by the end of this year. The center is developed on 4,500 square meters of land.
The engineers will work on integration of partners’ service in to Grab’s application, creating new features such as GrabPay and other features.
Ridzki Kramadibrata, Managing Director, Grab Indonesia, said the government Indonesia provides supports to business players to develop their business, including Grab. “We are committed to do our part to support the government’s move to develop digital economy,” he said.
Recently, as the first phase, Grab has integrated the service of Kudo, O2O platform, into Grab’s application. “With this integration, Grab is in now in a position to enter the second phase of its development in Indonesia,” he said. (*)
